About
For 20 years, after graduating in law, I pursued a corporate career in the recruitment sector. Working my way up from a consultant role to Regional Manager, with 50 staff, to director level positions and finally as Head of Legal Services for an organisation with a turnover of £500 million. During my career I studied for my MBA by distance learning, so I know first-hand what it is like to juggle work, study, and family.
My desire for a more flexible working schedule led me to set up my own consultancy to design and deliver people and business skills training. I have been fortunate enough to train international employees for large corporations in Europe and the Middle East as well as delivering learning online to employees in the public and private sector working in the UK. During this time, I gained Chartered Membership of CIPD, Fellowship of the Institute of Leadership and Development and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
As learning technologies evolved, I became enthusiastic about the benefits of online learning. I started training online in 2017, and in 2019 commenced my PhD (part time) with the Educational Research Department at Lancaster University in Technology Enhanced Learning to deepen my knowledge of digital learning. I intend to complete my research and begin drafting my thesis in 2023, which I will share on my blog.
